Meet Red! Red is a ~3yo 28lb heeler looking for his forever home. He has been stuck in a rural TX shelter with no public visibility and rescuing him was his only chance at freedom. Despite this he is a wonderful dog! He arrived in Boise recently and is timid and quiet, as well as calm, well-behaved, obedient, and most importantly friendly to other dogs. He’s fostered with cats also. He likes being petted and being close to humans, he would prefer a home with older children, or adults only due to his timid and mellow personality. He is frozen like a statue in new situations, and he takes a while to come out of his shell – he’s very shy. Once he warms up he enjoys hanging around with his family. He likes relaxed people that match his energy. Red enjoys a little bit of playing with other dogs and needs another dog in the home to learn from. He also needs a secure yard where he can get some exercise. He is potty trained and even uses the dog door.
He has a docked tail and is so cute. Red’s adoption fee includes his neuter, microchip and current vaccines. Red is based in Boise, but is available for direct adoption throughout the PNW with transport included at no extra charge.
